Now in stock: AREA Chicago #11: Im/migrations
This issue of the mighty journal AREA Chicago is subtitled “a local reader about how borders are made, experienced, and challenged through human movement (or … this whole ‘illegals’ thing is bullshit)”. Consistently bringing together the best thinkers from the Chicago area and beyond, AREA continues in its sixth year to provoke, agitate, organize, and shed light upon a variety of perspectives that surround and inform big ideas. It’s called AREA “Chicago”, but urban/suburban/rural folk alike from many different “areas” will find some like-minded thinking and new ideas in these pages. Im/migrations is divided into sections. “Where Is The Border?”, “Encounters with ‘America’”, “Searching For New Frameworks”, “Questions of Community”, and “Reflection and Action” include both original writing by activists, educators, and journalists, as well as some snapshots and report-backs of new Chicagoland-based initiatives.
See all of the AREA Chicago publications we offer here. Back issues are getting scarce so order ‘em if you want ‘em!
