Temporary Services organized MUSIC MOUNTAIN, a series of concerts in the shared city spaces of Tingbjerg, a community in Copenhagen, Denmark. This concert took place on May 19, 2012.
Papir was on a double bill this day with Troldmand. Papir is a trio consisting of Nicklas Sørensen (guitar), Christian Becher Clausen (bass) and Christoffer Brøchmann Christensen (drums) that have been playing together for over ten years now and you could definitely hear it in their deep connection to one another. Both bands also really got the word out and convinced many of their fans and friends to bike, drive and bus it to Tingbjerg - a neighborhood that few Danes visit even though it’s an extremely short distance from Copenhagen.
As the show progressed the music, a flowing and emotional wall of sound, really began to draw the locals in. Children, who could have played anywhere in the town, rode their bikes and kicked a soccer ball around by the concert spot. Several children planted themselves near the front and some Tingbjerg residents, who at first seemed merely curious and confused were clapping for an encore by the end of the show.
The video shows the first two songs of the band’s set. You can download the entire concert here:temporaryservices.org/MUSIC/MOUNTAIN/papir.mp3
